Kobestarr’s Monthly Playlist: December 2010

So once again I must apologise for being late with the postings here. Norway has me busy as a motherhubbard plus I still don’t really know how to use my new comp (I converted to a Mac as part of my turning 30 life crisis). Anyways here is the playlist for this month and the last of this year. Remember – click on any of the links and be taken str8 there..

So its December now so I gots to rock out with some XMAS jams. And they are a plenty in this months list yo! It was a hard decision but I had to start off with the beautiful freak that is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Xmas”. I don’t like her normal songs but this song has me smiling hard every year. She should have stopped after releasing this!

The rest of the xmas jams tunes are the big hitters from my childhood that destroyed my parents will to live on an annual basis. Sing my praises and sing them out loud! We have Wizzard, Shakey, Wham, Mel and Kim, Greg Lake, Bowie and Bing and finishing on the ultramega “Fairlytale of New York” by The Pogues.

In the rest of the mix we have Ost and Kjex, a Norsk band that was introduced to me when I was visiting my Viking friend in Oslo. Dr Dre steps back into the mix this year with “Kush” featuring Snoop and Akon. BOOM!! Turn this up to 11 folks! Im still not sure about Akon’s relevance as a human being but I can excuse him in this. It is after all Christmas!

Three random tunes for ya are “Walk like a Panther”, by The Pretenders, Morning Sun by the Plump DJ’s and “C.L.U” by Daft Punk. I genuinely don’t know why the first two have been on repeat for me this month. “Morning Sun” is ultra beautiful but in no way is it a December tune! lets me know what you think homes! Daft Punk are on here as they have made the soundtrack to the TRON sequel TRON LEGACY which comes out in a weeks time. Incidentally if you watched the original as a kid and loved it, I wouldn’t watch it again… it kinda sucks, nostalgia forever!

The last four tunes in this months playlist were all part of Zane Lowe’s Masterpieces this year. I love the concept, get an ace album, talk about it, put it in the CD Player, press “Play”, leave it till it ends… This season Zane and the BBC stepped out with Jay Z’s “Black Album”, The Smiths’ “The Queen is Dead”, “You’ve Come a Long Way Baby” by Fatboy Slim and The White Stripes “Elephant”. I’ll leave it up to you as to whether they are masterpieces or not but they all have Massive tunes on them!

That’s all for now guys! More posts coming soon as I can work out how to use my damn computer! Hopefully before next year eh!

God Jul
