I first heard "I Need a Dollar" on the first offical sunny day of 2010 in Manchester on the way the first barbecue of the year with Ellebee. It felt great! I initially thought that it was a Bill Withers remix possibly influenced by Gil Scott Heron and listend intently to the radio to find out who was behind it.

It turns out the dude with the vocals is Aloe Blacc and this is the title track of a new HBO comedy drama series called "How to Make it in America" which is made and produced by the Mark "Marky Mark" Wahlberg and the peeps behind "Entourage".

If it's half as good as Entourage it will easily be one of the best programmes on the box. Maybe even beating Harry Hill's TV Burp . As soon as i finish writing this i'm going to see about downloading the whole series.

Aloe is a Californian soul singer, rapper and jazz musician who currently has an album called "Shine Through", which was released in 2006 that i will also be looking into asap.

Holla! K*
